boise 9-28-13

We went to Boise so Christa could take a test for her paralegal certificate. My mom and sister came up from Hermiston to see us (when I say us I mean monkey lol), my dad was at home sick. Saturday while Christa was taking her test the rest of us took monkey to the zoo.

these were some huge rabbits 

he was moving to fast for my camera to get a good close shot

sloth bear (he just ate so it was nap time)

Then outside the zoo i have no idea what was going on, there were re-enactors (sp) from many time periods, civil war, WW1, WW2, king arthurs court, old west, mountain man. There was a car show, and farm equipment, and the oscar mayer rig there.

Ashley national forest

Today we headed down to Utah to check out some lakes in the Ashley forest. 

this is what we were looking at on the way there.

just outside of spirit lake, and we still climbed some more.

Found a great spot to stop and eat lunch

coming back down from spirit lake there was a forest service marker that said camping, we didnt find any camping just some rough roads (picture doesnt do it justice)

after we left spirit lake we headed over to another lake where we pulled a duramax out of the mud, 3 guys were out going fishing and got a little to close to the water. toyota 1 duramax 0

we then crossed over the flaming gorge dam and took the upper sage creek trail, this was an interesting old home with some other out buildings. several old grave sites out there also, one was a government surveyor who died in 1901 from tick fever.
